Legislative Key Contact Program The
debate on important health care policy issues is happening around
you—often by people who don’t know what’s best for your practice and
the delivery of quality healthcare to patients.
More than ever, now is the time for you to get involved in the
political process. Legislators
are looking for guidance to help them make the right decisions.
They would rather hear from you—a physician with experience
handling the complex issues they are trying to address—than ANY hired
lobbyist. We
encourage your participation in a state grassroots program designed
to target our state legislators and government officials.
A grassroots program is a network, comprised of Chapter members
who have existing relationships with state legislators and/or key
government officials, established for the purpose of accessing these
individuals to ensure they receive accurate information regarding issues
of concern to cardiovascular specialists, and to build the credibility of
the Chapter so that this information is given due consideration.
Legislators, in particular, are eager to hear from constituents
about how a particular legislative proposal will affect their district.
By establishing a network of contacts with key legislators and
government officials, we should be able to mobilize quickly when issues of
importance to cardiovascular medicine arise. If
you are interested in participating in the Grassroots Program, please take
a few moments to complete
our response form. Existing
relationships with legislators who serve on health-related committees
would be most valuable, although we would welcome your willingness to
serve as a contact to any member. Please
keep in mind that participation in this program requires a very small time
commitment. We
hope you will be able to assist the cardiovascular community in this
endeavor and look forward to hearing from you.
Should you have any questions about the Indiana-ACC's State
Grassroots Program, or the program of specific state legislators, please
call Gwen Goldfarb at 866.44.INACC. Thank
you. |
